Athlete of the Decade

 The AP has reported.

"Even after a shocking sex scandal that tarnished Tiger Woods, it was tough to ignore what he achieved on the golf course.

He won 64 times around the world, including 12 majors, and hoisted a trophy on every continent golf is played. He lost only one time with the lead going into the final round. His 56 PGA Tour victories in one incomparable decade were more than anyone except four of golf’s greatest players won in their careers.

Woods was selected Wednesday as the Athlete of the Decade by members of The Associated Press in a vote that was more about 10 years of performance than nearly three weeks of salacious headlines."

What an outrage.

If Tiger Woods is the Athlete of the Decade, then he should also be awarded  Cheater of the Year award.

Way to go Tiger, we all know how hard you have worked at achieving these awards.  You are the best.

Major in Finance and Banking - You Will Get a Bonus

Merrill Lynch Post $4.9 Billion Loss For Second Quarter

 According to
William D. Cohan"Two billion, nine-hundred million dollars is the amount of money the mighty Goldman Sachs accrued in the third quarter of 2008 for “compensation and benefits” to potentially be paid out in the form of bonuses to the firm’s 30,000 or so employees sometime in December. The third-quarter accrual represents a whopping 50% decline from the $5.9 billion accrual for the third-quarter of 2007. For the nine months so far this year, Goldman has accrued $11.4 billion for bonuses, down one-third from $16.9 billion accrued for nine months in 2007. Last year, Goldman paid out a record $20.2 billion in “compensation and benefits” and it is more than a little obvious that this year the payout will be down significantly, with something in the 40% range looking likely."

If your kid goes to college, and does not know what to major in?  Tell them banking , commerce and finance, financial advising, investments or just a degree in business.  Then start an MBA and get a job on Wall Street in an investment bank.

A law degree cannot hurt. These firms need lawyers to keep the execs out of jail. So a law degree is very important too.
The bigger the firm - the better.  That way you will be too big to fail.

The firm you work  for can screw up, almost go broke, get a bail out, and you will likely get a bonus.

You can screw up. And you will get a bonus.

This is the only industry in the world where you will get rewarded for failure, the  only other place where this can happen is in the Congress.

What is The Deal Harry Reid? $300 Million Bribe

The Washington Post reported on a provision in the health reform bill that would give the state of Louisiana - whose Senator, Mary Landrieu, is indecisive on health reform - $300 million. "The promise of the Obama campaign is to change the way Washington works," CNN's John King asks Sen. Sherrod Brown. King argues that this process is "Washington as usual, is it not?" Brown and Sen. Jeanne Shaheen were tongue-tied as to how to answer the question at first.

King continued, "Is it important enough to buy votes?"

Is it any wonder our country is broke?

Harry Reid gives (our money) to  Mary Landrieu - $300 million.  This is not right.

I hope the both of you,  Harry Reid and Mary Landrieu choke on that money.  You should both be ashamed.

Watch the video: and you will see Sen. Sherrod Brown is a jerk.

Remember their names and what they did - VOTE THEM OUT.

New Orleans Sues Army for Katrina Flood

A US judge has ruled that negligence by the US Army Corps of Engineers led to massive floods in parts of New Orleans as Hurricane Katrina struck in 2005.
______________________________________________________________________
GOP MOM said "Well, New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin has done it again. He has come up with yet another way to stick it to the Feds (and the American public). I tell ya', this guy is so good at shifting blame, he should be working for the Clinton's." ______________________________________________________________________
" Submitting a claim for a staggering $77 billion, the city of New Orleans joined tens of thousands of would-be plaintiffs who rushed to beat a Thursday deadline to alert the Army Corps of Engineers that they may sue for losses resulting from the levee breaches after Hurricane Katrina.     Also joining the queue were Entergy New Orleans, the city's bankrupt electrical utility, which is seeking $655 million, and the New Orleans Sewerage & Water Board, which put in a claim of about $460 million, spokesmen for the agencies said."
Bill Barrow, Meghan Gordon, Sheila Grissett and Bob Warren contributed to this report. _______________________________________________________________________

New Orleans is mostly below sea level. It would have been flooded anyway.

If New Orleans is going to sue the Army Corps of  Engineers for negligence - then New Orleans must sue the Lord for causing Katrina in the first place.

Cheney And Rangel Honor Life Of Former Colleague In Washington
Representative Charles Rangel

From New Times - Kate Phillips

"One of the sharpest exchanges in the House floor debate so far took place between Representative Charles Rangel, Democrat of New York and chairman of the House Ways and Means Committee, and Representative John Boehner, Republican of Ohio and the House minority leader."

Sometimes it takes a good "fight" to clear the air. I love when fingers are pointed.  The House and the Senate think they are privileged, but its all in their minds.  The basics, respect has to be earned.

$23 Million and Counting

President Obama and Governor Jon Corzine

$23 Million of his own money  and three Obama visits and Jon Corzine could not get elected as Govenor of New Jersey.

How pathetic- Jon Corzine could not "buy" the job as govenor this time. Too bad.  Better luck next time.

Need the Swine Flu Vaccine - You may have to go to Guantanamo Bay

Even as some Americans await the arrival of their swine flu vaccines, the Pentagon has decided to vaccinate both soldiers and terror suspects at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.
____________________________________________________________________________

Soldiers ok.

Terror suspects?  NO WAY!  Hey, if there is any vaccine left, lets give the vaccine to the families of the terror suspects.

This is an outrage. This is another wacky liberal notion.  This is wrong.  This is not America.  Its something else.
